Guest seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. While Commencement is a celebration of our students’ accomplishments, it is also a formal academic event to be conducted with dignity and decorum. Guests are asked to remain in their seats for the duration of the ceremonyan d to refrain from blocking aisles and passageways by attempting to greet or take photos of individual graduates.

No photographs should be taken by guests except from their seats and after the ceremony. Commencement will be professionally videotaped and each graduate will be photographed as they receive their degree on stage. Graduates will receive proofs by mail in 4-6 weeks. DVD and VHS recordings will be available one week after graduation at a nominal cost through the Media Center (973-748-9000, ext. 370).

Cellular phones and pagers must be turned off for the duration of the ceremony to help ensure that all guests can hear and enjoy the commencement activities.
