Administration Majors
Business Administration is a popular major
for a number of good reasons—it opens the
door to numerous exciting and challenging
career choices such as general management,
sales and marketing, financial management
and human resources. Graduates
of the Business program understand
finance, systems and human behavior and,
as a result, make highly successful managers
and executives. If you choose to
continue your studies, your B.S. in Business
Administration from Bloomfield College
will make you a competitive candidate for
graduate school. Many of our students are
admitted to selective graduate programs
in universities around the nation and go on
to earn masters and doctoral degrees.

Today’s business environment is complex and demanding. To
be a strong competitor you
need the breadth of knowledge that covers all the business basics. As a student in the
Business Administration program you will take a common core of courses which include
accounting, economics, computer literacy, finance, marketing, statistics and business law. In
addition, you will select an area in which you will specialize.
Choose from seven concentrations focusing on a core business specialization:
Management Information Systems
Study Internet and Web publishing, UNIX operating systems, Management
Information Systems and Database management.
Economics
You will learn about monetary systems and
theory as well as the philosophies and
thinking behind them.
Finance
Learn how to put money to work with courses
such as Working Capital Management and
Personal Financial Planning.
Human Resource Management
You’ll graduate ready to enter one of the
fastest growing career fields and will study
workplace issues, international human
resources management and labor relations.
Management
The complex business environment needs
great managers who understand policy and
organizational effectiveness. You’ll study
operations management, business forecasting
and organizational behavior.
Marketing
When you study marketing, you learn how
to compete. Courses include Consumer
Behavior, Industrial Marketing and
Marketing Research.
Supply Chain Management
This growing, highly-specialized field covers
materials and supply management, physical
distribution, inventory control, quality
control, traffic and warehouse management
and more. This is a great choice for men
and women who already work in the field.
- Certificate in
Materials Management
Offered on the Bloomfield College campus
and selected corporate sites, the Certificate
program is designed for those who already
have a bachelor’s degree or wish to update
their skills. The Certificate program consists
of seven credit-based courses, including
Production and Inventory Control,
Purchasing Management, MIS for Materials
and Supply Management, and Quality
Control Fundamentals.

Business Honors Society
The national honors society, Delta Mu
Delta, for business is open to students who
meet the required criteria. Members of the
Bloomfield College faculty will assist qualified
students with their application. |
