Academic Programs
MAJOR CONCENTRATIONS
International Business Management
The international business program has been developed as a concentration within the existing Business Administration Major in the Division of Accounting, Business CIS and Economics. This curriculum will provide our students with the theoretical background as well as the applied practical skills that they will need in today's business environment.
Human Services—Division of Social and Behavior Sciences
This concentration will better prepare students for graduate work in the social sciences (for example, in Social Work, Social Welfare, Public Administration and Policy, Urban and Regional Planning, Health Advocacy, Counseling, etc.) and for entry level positions with social services agencies - - profit, not-for-profit and government agencies.
Pre-Med Program
Students interested in pursuing medicine (as well as dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, pharmacy, etc.) can select any major, provided they meet the prerequisites of the professional school. However, most pre-med (and related) students major in biology, biochemistry, or chemistry. In general, all of these professions require a minimum of two years of English, all at the college level. The competitive applicant is expected to achieve a grade point average of at least 3.0 (B's or better) in all science classes.
MINORS
Computer Information Systems (CIS)
The CIS is designed for students in other majors who want to learn more about how technology can improve their personal and professional productivity. Students in the CIS minor take eight courses, in areas such as management, programming languages, multi-media and database management. All Bloomfield College students interested in improving their career opportunities can obtain the minor in CIS while pursuing different majors.
Latino/Latin American and Caribbean Studies
Through the minor, students will be exposed to the histories, languages, cultures, economics, politics, arts, literature of the region, and the roles of Latino and Caribbean people in the United States.
