New Jersey State Department of Health requires ALL students enrolled in a program leading to a degree supply proof of immunization to measles, mumps and rubella (MMR). Details regarding this requirement may be found at: http://www.state.nj.us/health/cd/college.htm.

New Jersey State Law requires that all Fall 2004 incoming new and transfer students planning to live in college dormitories, receive the MENOMUNE (Meningitis) vaccine prior to moving into the resident facilities. The College is prohibited from allowing any student to reside in its facilities without proof that they have received the MENOMUNE vaccine. Please provide the verification to the Health Services Office.

You must supply proof of the following vaccinations:

  • Two measles vaccinations (given after 1967)
  • One rubella vaccination
  • One mumps vaccination

or

  • 2 doses of MMR (given at least 30 days apart)

or

  • Blood titers to prove you are already immune to the three diseases.

You may be exempt from these requirements if:

  1. You were born before December 31, 1956

  2. You have documented medical reasons,

  3. You have documented religious reasons.

A good place to start looking for your documentation is with your private physician or the last school or college you attended.

If you are unable to locate your immunization records or they are incomplete, the next option is to provide proof of immunity by serological report, a blood test that your doctor must order.

You may opt to take the vaccinations again. Remember they must be given at least 30days apart. The MMR vaccines are given by appointment in the Health Services Office, Clee Hallfor $50.00 per dose.
