The Center for Academic Development, located in the Learning Resource Center, provides Bloomfield College students with a wide variety of support activities designed to improve academic achievement.
These activities include:
- Academic Foundation Courses – English and mathematics courses designed to prepare students for College level courses
- Peer Mentor Tutor Program (PMT)- Opportunity for student employment and to become a leader of the College community.
- Peer Mentor Tutor Handbook – a guide for professional development
- Peer Mentor Tutor Application
- Placement Testing – Reading, writing and mathematics tests are administered to incoming students to determine appropriate course placement.
- Preparation for Professional Exams – Workshops and practice materials are available.
- SAGE -
Support for Achievement in Graduate Education - The SAGE program provides targeted advisement services and technology-based academic support to improve opportunities for students preparing for admission to graduate school.

- Tutoring Program – Individual and small group tutorial sessions in most subject areas are available.
- Workshops, Study Groups, and Recitations
- Supplementary instructional sessions led by professional tutors to support specific courses.
Students are encouraged to make use of all the services provided by the Center for Academic Development by visiting the Learning Resource Center.
