BASIC MATHEMATICS REVIEW
(for evening students only)
This course reviews mathematics skills including the computation of whole numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages. There is an emphasis on the interpretation and solution of verbal problems.

FUNDAMENTAL MATHEMATICAL AND QUANTATIVE REASONING I

FUNDAMENTAL MATHEMATICAL AND QUANTATIVE REASONING II
The course builds upon the skills developed in ACF 90 as well as covering topics in basic algebra, set theory and probability.

INTRODUCTION TO ALGEBRA
This course reviews introductory algebra concepts such as signed numbers, expressions, linear equations, inequalities, and graphing lines. There is a strong emphasis on applied algebra (word problems) as the tool to develop critical and problem solving.

BASIC COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS FOR COLLEGE

This course is designed to introduce students to the basis processes involved in reading and writing. Students will learn to analyze a reading selection and express their ideas in a short essay.

DEVELOPMENTAL READING AND WRITING I
This course is the first of a two-course sequence for readers and writers. It will look at literacy strategies for basic college reading, writing and critical thinking. It will focus on building student’s reading and writing skills necessary to comprehensively apply strategies in college-level courses and for individual growth.
Topics to be discussed include: basic reading skills emphasizing comprehension, critical thinking, inferencing, vocabulary development, setting purposes, drawing connections to readings and the writing process.

DEVELOPMENTAL READING AND WRITING II
This course introduces the college -level reading and writing skills needed for successful completion of the General Education requirements. This course continues and builds upon the skills mastered in ACF 96.
