The Peer Mentor Tutor (PMT) Program nurtures and promotes the leadership skills and academic excellence of the peer mentor tutors by encouraging them to become leaders and mentors to other Bloomfield College students, and helping them to succeed during their college experience.
Description
- PMTs assist other students with academics and accepted professional behaviors.
- PMTs are tutors and assistants in workshop/study groups. PMTs assist students in developing their critical thinking skills, guide the students to be problem solvers and promote deductive reasoning instead of "feeding" students the answer.
- PMTs encourage students to incorporate good study and time management skills into their learning.
- PMTs assist CAD staff with covering the front desk and other projects.
- PMTs are mentors; guiding students with advice on how to approach questions related to student life, i.e., where to find this? who should I see about this? how do I handle this? and so forth.
- PMTs promote leadership and academic-excellency skills by setting an example for other students. PMTs are expected to act in a professional and moral manner.
