In any industry, it is often who you know that is just as important as your skills and accomplishments. The difference between having talents and getting to apply them in the real world is the ability to make contacts within the industry - real people that you can talk to, get the inside scoop, and work on special projects with. This requires unique opportunities to develop friendships with industry professionals who can help you on the road to becoming a professional yourself. |

| IGDA at Bloomfield College |
| Bloomfield College is proud to sponsor the monthly meetings of the Northern NJ International Game Developer's Association (IGDA) Chapter. Students are encouraged to attend these meetings, meet professionals and other enthusiasts, watch presentations from industry professionals, and participate in the special game development projects coordinated by the chapter. |
“The IGDA NJ Chapter chose to meet at Bloomfield College for the same reasons as so many game design students have; it combines great facilities with a forward-thinking mission and most importantly, great people throughout the organization. The environment that they are fostering at the college is energetic and vibrant, and we are extremely excited to be a part of it.”

| The Northern NJ Chapter is one of the most active in the country, and provides the students with a network of experienced artists, programmers, designers, and producers. Many of these industry professionals assist with college events and teach some of the core classes within the Game Development program. We are lucky to have such great talent in the area, and continue to integrate them into the program as lecturers, mentors, and advisors. This relationship fosters an interdisciplinary collaborative environment that extends beyond the basic curriculum, and offers students real-world game development knowledge and experience. |
