  • Reminder: Register for The Fourth Faculty Technology Showcase (Tuesday, January 15, 2008)

    As we are approaching to our Fourth Faculty Technology Showcase on January 15th, faculty and sfaff members are encouraged to register to attend the Showcase. The updated Showcase information can be found on the Web http://users.bloomfield.edu/department/ctlt/showcase08/index.htm. To register online, click the Registration link from the Web site, or click here to register now. There are six morning workshops, be sure to pick one session you are interested to attend, and don't forget your lunch option before submiting your registration.

    The deadline to be officially registered for workshop and lunch is Friday, January 11, 2008.

  • Blackbaord system has been upgraded to the latest release 7.3.159.26 during the winter break

    The upgrade has offered several improvements in discussion board, and installed SafeAssign plagiarism prevention and detection function along with a fewer other minor updates.   • CTLT -- the new name for former OIT (Office of Instructional Technology)

    Office of Instructional Technology (OIT) has changed its name to Center for Teaching and Learning with Technology (CTLT). This change reflects the inclusion of support for, and focus on, teaching and learning, and our commitment to student-center teaching. CTLT will continue the same faculty support and services that were provided by the former OIT.
  • College Acquired New Software License for StudyMate

    Bloomfield College has recently acquired campus-wide license for new software -- StudyMate 2.0. StudyMate is an authoring tool that lets you create 10 Flash-based activities and games using four simple templates. The Flash activities are usable with any web server or can be published directly to Blackboard courses. StudyMate lets you create ten Flash-based activities and games using four simple templates. StudyMate will import items from MS Word files and publisher test banks, making it easy to create interesting, interactive activities from existing content. Best of all, you don’t have to know Flash programming or HTML to use StudyMate.

  • Blackboard has been upgraded to Release 7.2 this summer
    Blackboard was upgraded to the latest Release 7.2 from Release 6.3 over the summer. Thanks to excellent cooperation and patience from Blackboard instructor and students users, as well as staff users. The new features have been posted on the Web. Workshops for Blackboard new features and were conducted in July.

    There are a number of new features and enhancements available to instructors since Blackboard 6.3.  Students will also benefit from the upgrade for enhanced communication and interaction.
