Basic Policies of Bloomfield College Library

All books leaving the library must be properly checked out at the circulation desk.
  1. The borrower is responsible for returning books on, or before, the due date stamped on the pocket of each book.
  2. The loan period for students is 28 days. Faculty can keep the materials until the end of the semester. Books may be renewed.
  3. Most reserved materials do not circulate and must be used within the library. A professor can assign a reserved book to be borrowed overnight or over the weekend.
  4. Periodicals and reference materials may not be taken out of the library.
  5. Video tapes do not circulate, but may be viewed in the A.V.Center.
  6. A fine of five cents per book per day is charged for most overdue materials. The charge for reserved items, however, is 50 cents per book per day. Lost or severely damages books must be paid for. Minor damages will result in fines.
  7. Patrons with overdue materials or unpaid fines may not borrow additional materials until all overdue items have been returned.
  8. No more than seven items may be signed out at any one time by any person.
  9. All the books should be returned to the circulation desk. If the library is closed, place books in the "Book Depository" located at the front entrance to the library.
  10. No eating and smoking are allowed in the library.
  11. The library attempts to maintain a quiet atmosphere in which students and faculty may engage in research and study. Please reserve talking for such places such as the Student Lounge, or when asking for and receiving staff help.
