BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE TO CELEBRATE THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON

February 14, 2000, Bloomfield, NJ -- The Bloomfield College community will welcome the Year of the Dragon on Tuesday, February 22 with a program of traditional Chinese music and dance in the Robert V. Van Fossan Theatre from 2:15 to 3:45 p.m.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature performances by schools and organizations from around the state, as well as a Chinese fashion show and an exhibition of Chinese painting, calligraphy, and crafts. Bloomfield College’s circus troupe will demonstrate the Chinese Yo-Yo, and children from the Fidelity Chinese School in Marlboro will display a 35-foot dragon, which they created. The Holmdel Dance Group will perform a Chinese folk dance, and local youngsters will also play traditional Chinese songs on the zither and violin.

The College’s Robert V. Van Fossan Theatre is located on the corner of Franklin and Fremont Streets in Bloomfield.
