COLLEGE TO HOST MICROSOFT OPEN HOUSE

May 8, 2000, Bloomfield, NJ -- To help professionals advance in today’s technological workforce, Bloomfield College is offering a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) program, one of the software industry’s leading certification programs.

Bloomfield College’s MCSE program is introducing a Windows 2000 track as well as an MCSE Upgrade from NT 4.0, designed to help professionals update their support skills.

To introduce prospective students to the program, the College will host an open house on Friday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Science Building, Room 16, at 171 Liberty Street in Bloomfield. Classes begin June 12.

“Bloomfield College is proud to be the first four-year college in New Jersey to offer this important program,” said Dr. Peter K. Jeong, director of the College’s Advanced Technology Institute. “The demand for information technology professionals is growing rapidly, so it is vital for the College to help people develop the necessary skills for success.”

According to MCP Magazine, the average salary for Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer is $72,600. “An increasing number of employers are looking for certification as evidence of technical ability. Often, certification is the key to advancement,” said Jeong.

As a Microsoft Authorized Academic Training Program, the MCSE curriculum and course materials are designed by Microsoft and all instructors are Microsoft certified. To enter Bloomfield College’s MCSE program, students should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, an understanding of computer software and hardware, and a desire to learn network engineering concepts and skills.
