College President John F. Noonan. “The paradigm shift Monster.com has caused in the way people think about and pursue careers is as creative as making a film or composing a musical score. That Monster.com is possible only in the digital age makes Mr. Taylor an ideal choice since we recently opened our new library, brimming with electronic resources.” Monster.com boasts more than 9 million job seeker members, a resume database of more than 5 million, and over 440,000 unique job opportunities from thousands of companies. In July, Monster.com reached a milestone number of unique visitors in one month with 4.47 million. Monster.com is currently the 74th most visited site on the Internet. Under Taylor’s leadership, Monster.com was recently named Best Job Site by Mac World magazine, a Gold Star Site by Yahoo! Internet Life, and a Forbes Favorite Career Site by Forbes magazine. “The Internet is magnifying our students’ academic possibilities exponentially, and Monster.com magnifies their career possibilities exponentially,” said President Noonan. “For the first time, students from all backgrounds have a means to multiply their relationships and their qualifications.” Taylor is a frequent speaker at technology, advertising and recruitment conferences. He has spoken at events hosted by such noted organizations as Forrester Research, Giga Information Group, The Kelsey Group and The Society for Human Resource Management. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Junior Achievement and Computer.com. Taylor attended the University of Massachusetts and received his executive MBA/OPM from the Harvard Business School. Still, he is hardly a conventional CEO. In March, Taylor became the Blimp Waterskiing World Champion, a title previously held by Richard Branson, CEO of Virgin. Monster.com’s memorable ad campaign, “When I Grow Up,” was introduced at Super Bowl XXXIII, and has earned numerous awards including a Cannes Film Festival Silver award and Best of Show recognition from Advertising Age magazine. In January, Monster.com was named the first-ever dot.com U.S. Olympic sponsor. Founded in 1868 as a Presbyterian seminary, Bloomfield College is an independent, four-year, co-educational institution that has renewed itself to meet the changing needs of the community. The College enrolls students born in more than 50 countries and has earned recognition for its innovative, high quality academic and co-curricular programs and for its mission to prepare students to attain academic, personal and professional excellence in a multicultural and global society. |
