ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE AT BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE INTRODUCES
SUN MICROSYSTEMS CERTIFICATION
October 25, 2000 -- To help professionals advance in today’s high-tech workforce, the Advanced Technology Institute at Bloomfield College recently introduced a Sun Microsystems certification program.
The Advanced Technology Institute will introduce prospective students to the Sun certification program with an open house at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 8 in the Science Building, Room 16, 171 Liberty Street in Bloomfield.
As part of the Sun program, students may pursue either a Solaris System Administration Certification (15-week program) or a Java Technology Certification (13-week program). Classes are offered during the evenings and weekends, beginning on January 8, 2001.
The Solaris certification will help students gain the skills needed to configure and manage network-wide resources, as well as analyze and troubleshoot hardware and software systems. The Java certification will enable students to bring a new level of functionality to the design of business applications with instruction and training on this revolutionary platform from Sun - the source of Java technology.
The average reported salary for professionals holding Sun certifications last year was $80,200.
Since its inception in 1982, a singular vision - “The network is the computer” - has propelled Sun Microsystems to its position as a leading provider of hardware, software and services that power the Internet and allow companies worldwide to take their businesses online.
The Advanced Technology Institute at Bloomfield College, a state and regional leader in vendor authorized certifications, provides superior training and education to Information Technology professionals, those looking for a career change, and recent high school graduates.
