ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE AT BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE OFFERS SUN MICROSYSTEMS OPEN HOUSE
March 15, 2001 -- The Advanced Technology Institute at Bloomfield College recently joined Sun Microsystems Authorized Sun Education Center, Academic Initiative, a unique program designed to help colleges and universities teach the latest dot-com skills to their students. Sun’s training arm, Sun Educational Services, is providing the Advanced Technology Institute at Bloomfield College with curriculum materials, faculty training, full administrative support and free Web-based student resources.
The Advanced Technology Institute will introduce prospective students to the Sun Microsystems certification program with an open house at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 23 in the Science Building, Room 16, 171 Liberty Street in Bloomfield.
Under this program, students will be able to take courses on the Java™ technologies that power the Internet and the Solaris™ Operating Environment. Students enrolled in these courses have free access through a Web browser to online courses on the Sun™ Web Learning Center. Students who complete the courses offered through the initiative may qualify to sit for examinations in the Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform path and for the first level exam in the Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris path.
