KICKOFF CLASSIC TICKETS ON SALE AT BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE
April 4, 2001, Bloomfield, NJ -- The Independent College Fund of New Jersey (ICFNJ) and Bloomfield College invite you to the 19th Annual Kickoff Classic, which has historically served as the first college football game of the year. This year’s match-up, set for Sunday, August 26, 2:00 p.m. at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, will feature the Syracuse Orangemen against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
The ICFNJ is the only local benefactor from this annual event. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Bloomfield College and the other 13 member institutions of the ICFNJ. Tickets are $40.
This will be mark the third appearance for Syracuse in the Kickoff Classic and the second for Georgia Tech, however this is the first time the two teams will meet on the gridiron. In 1997, Syracuse shut out Wisconsin, 34-0, and in 1990, the Orangemen lost to Southern California, 34-16. Georgia Tech lost to Penn State, 34-22, in its lone appearance in this event.
