ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE AT BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE INTRODUCES CERTIFIED INTERNET WEBMASTER PROGRAM

April 26, 2001, Bloomfield, NJ -- To help professionals advance in today’s technological workforce, the Advanced Technology Institute at Bloomfield College is introducing a Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) program. CIW certification establishes an individual as an expert in Internet technologies. Like a professional license, the CIW designation offers structured, reliable evidence of skills competency.

To introduce prospective students to the CIW program, the Advanced Technology Institute at Bloomfield College will host an open house and registration session on Friday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Science Building, Room 16, 171 Liberty Street in Bloomfield.

“The Advanced Technology Institute at Bloomfield College is proud to offer this important program,” said Dr. Peter K. Jeong, Associate Vice President of the Advanced Technology Institute. “As Internet technologies continue to grow, the demand for highly trained experts is increasing rapidly. Proper training is essential for individuals to excel in this competitive field.”

For employers, CIW certification provides a verification tool to distinguish among candidates for hiring and promotion. For individuals, CIW certification is an internationally accepted credential attesting to their mastery of important skills. The average reported salary of a Webmaster is $58,000 - $82,500.

According to Dr. Jeong, the program allows students to be certified in various technical proficiency modules including Master CIW Designer, CIW Professional Application Developer, and Master CIW Administrator.

As a Master CIW Designer, students learn how to design, implement, and maintain hypertext-based publishing sites using authoring and scripting languages, content creation and management, and digital media tools. Classes for this eight-week program begin on Tuesday, June 5.

Students in the CIW Professional Application Developer track learn how to create advanced Web sites using server- and user-side scripting languages. This eight-week course begins on Tuesday, August 14.

In the Master CIW Administrator module, students learn how to manage and tune e-business solutions infrastructure including Web, FTP, news and mail servers. This is a 10-week course, with classes beginning on Monday, October 15.

As an authorized CIW Training Center, all classes are taught by professional instructors using official CIW curriculum. The program features evening classes and free lab hours. Loan programs are available.
