KWENDE RECEIVES NJADP SCHOLARSHIP
May 16, 2001, Bloomfield, NJ - Corentine Kwende, a Bloomfield College senior from Orange, NJ, was recently selected as the 2001 Philip J. Piccolo/New Jersey Association of Designated Persons Scholarship Award winner.

The $1,000 award is presented annually to an outstanding student who is pursuing health, safety and environmental studies. The New Jersey Association of Designated Persons is an organization dedicated to serving local schools and school districts as a source of information in the fields of asbestos and other environmental issues.
Kwende, a biology major with minors in chemistry and psychology, moved to the United States six years ago from The Republic of Cameroon. She received the Bloomfield College Excellence in Science Award at the College’s annual awards ceremony in April.
After graduation, Kwende will attend Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway where she hopes to specialize in pediatrics.
