ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE TO HOST CIW WEBMASTER, MICROSOFT, CISCO OPEN HOUSES
July 25, 2001, Bloomfield, NJ - The Advanced Technology Institute at Bloomfield College will host an open house for its Certified Internet Webmaster Program on Friday, September 7, its Microsoft Program on Friday, September 14, and its Cisco Program on Friday, September 21.
All open houses will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room 16 of the Science Building, corner of Liberty Street and Spruce Street in Bloomfield.
“This is a great opportunity for prospective students to speak to our instructors, spend time in our state-of-the-art labs, explore all of our programs and services, and take advantage of priority registration,” said Peter Jeong, Vice President of The Advanced Technology Institute at Bloomfield College.
The Certified Internet Webmaster Program establishes an individual as an expert in Internet Technologies. For employers, CIW certification provides a verification tool to
distinguish among candidates for hiring and promotion. For individuals, CIW certification is an internationally accepted credential attesting to their mastery of important skills. The average reported salary of a Webmaster is $58,000 - $82,500.
The program allows students to be certified in various technical proficiency modules, including Professional CIW Site Designer, Professional CIW Application Developer, Professional CIW Server Administrator, and Master CIW Web Site Manager.
Microsoft's certification program is one of the software industry's most well-known and respected programs for assessing technical proficiency. Given the overwhelming dominance of the Windows operating system and suite of products such as Office in the business world, gaining a MCSE leads to recognition in the job market. A Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Windows 2000 (MCSE) certification is achieved by passing seven Microsoft certification exams.
The MCSE program gives students the knowledge and skills needed to plan, install, configure, manage and support information systems in a wide range of computing environments using Microsoft networking software. To enter the MCSE program, students should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, an understanding of computer software and hardware, and a desire to learn network engineering concepts and skills.
The Cisco program, authorized by computer networking leader Cisco Systems, is designed to help computer-literate individuals earn certification and prepare for careers in networking.
The program allows students to be certified at various technical proficiency levels including Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), average salary $59,770; Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), average salary $85,000 with 2 to 3 years experience; and Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE), average salary $150,000.
CCNAs focus on relatively simple networks, while CCNPs have the expertise to install, configure, operate and troubleshoot more complex Cisco-based networks. CCIEs represent the highest attainable certification level under Cisco Certifications and ideally possess at least two years of on-the-job experience in addition to the knowledge associated with the CCNP level.
Advanced Technology Institute programs feature state-of-the art labs and equipment, free lab hours, and certified instructors.
