ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE FEATURED ON RADIO PROGRAM

September 19, 2001, Bloomfield, NJ -- News about the Advanced Technology Institute at Bloomfield College hit the airwaves recently thanks to Bloomfield College alumnus Lino Celle ’82 and his son, Rex, who own and operate WRMN Broadcasting, a Filipino radio station in Bloomfield.

Peter Jeong, Vice President for the Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) at Bloomfield College, and Patty Palmiere, Assistant Director of Marketing for ATI, appeared as guests on Mr. Celle’s program and spoke about trends in information technology, as well as what makes the program at Bloomfield College so unique.

According to Dr. Jeong, Bloomfield College became the first four-year college in New Jersey to offer Microsoft, Cisco, and Sun certification training. The Advanced Technology Institute recently expanded its program to include on-site as well as on-campus training, and now offers additional certification programs for Oracle, CIW Webmaster, and Check Point. The Institute’s hands-on approach to technical training empowers students of all skill levels, including many Fortune 500 employees, with the tools they need to generate success for themselves and their companies.

“Even though the economy has slowed, there is still a strong demand for IT professionals with specialized skills,” said Dr. Jeong. “The Institute is experiencing strong enrollment numbers from job-seekers eager to enter this promising field.”

Dr. Jeong noted that ATI recently introduced Check Point certification training, which provides students with the necessary skills to maximize their company’s investment in Check Point based network security solutions. He expects that network security will continue to represent a field with tremendous growth potential.

“As we continue to depend on network access to share information from various locations, there will be a stronger demand for networking security professionals. Our technical training programs will introduce highly-capable professionals into these job roles,” he said.
