Nursing Convocation
September 12, 2002
Speech by Dr. John F. Noonan, Bloomfield College President
Yesterday’s somber anniversary reminded us in heart-wrenching ways how precious human life is, and how precious the workers who strive to sustain human life are. It is fitting that the first Bloomfield College ceremony since 9/11 is this Nursing Convocation.
It may seem far-fetched to connect today with yesterday, but it isn’t. The profession you have chosen is as focused on making this world a safer and better place as medicine or ministry or international diplomacy. On this bright morning, we salute you for the choice you have made, and we thank the faculty for the rigorous and high-minded curriculum they have created. And we thank Dr. Carolyn Tuella for inspiring us.
