COLLEGE OFFERS FILM SCREENING ABOUT TEACHING
April 11, 2002, Bloomfield, NJ -- Bloomfield College will present a screening of the PBS documentary film “Teach” on Thursday, April 25 at 4 p.m. in the Robert V. Van Fossan Theatre, corner of Franklin and Fremont Streets in Bloomfield. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
“Teach” is a half-hour film that was created for students and individuals who are about to make career decisions to give them a realistic look at the teaching profession. The film is also intended to focus awareness on the teacher shortage crisis and inspire people to enter the profession. Over the next 10 years, the U.S. will need more than 2 million teachers.
Amy Wallace of Los Angeles Magazine said the film “makes one consider a sudden career change.”
Phil McCombs of The Washington Post called the film “raw, edgy and spare - so beautiful and inspiring it makes you want to go out and do something for those struggling kids, those impassioned teachers.”
Bloomfield College Professor of Education Elena Scambio will lead a question and answer session following the film.
