MEN COOKING UP THANKSGIVING PROJECT TO HELP THE NEEDY
October 24, 2002, Bloomfield, NJ -- Once again, the Male Empowerment Network (MEN) at Bloomfield College is cooking up a special project to help those less fortunate this Thanksgiving, and they need your support.
The group is preparing for its Seventh Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Delivery Service, and they are asking for the community’s help in this effort by donating any of the following items: turkey, stuffing (bag or box), rice (bag or box), vegetables, fried chicken, pies, napkins, yams (canned), rolls, plastic forks and knives, cakes, canned beverages, mashed potatoes, and macaroni & cheese.

The Thanksgiving Dinner Delivery Service is scheduled for Saturday, November 16. Delivery hours are from 1 to 4 p.m. All meals will be prepared and packaged by members of the MEN program, and the group welcomes volunteers who are interested in helping with the delivery, cooking or packaging of meals.
The meals will be delivered to several community-based organizations in the Bloomfield, East Orange, Orange and Newark areas, to help needy individuals share in the joy of the holiday.
“Our goal is to deliver care packages to at least five different organizations in these areas,” said Gregory Bartlett, MEN coordinator. “Any support for this project will be greatly appreciated. Through the kindness and commitment of our volunteers, we are touching the lives of others and offering hope for members of our neighboring communities.”
Food items may be donated to the Thanksgiving Dinner Delivery Service from November 1st through the 16th at the Bloomfield College Residence Life Office, 208 Liberty Street, in Bloomfield. Please call Gregory Bartlett at (973) 748-9000 ext. 359 to make arrangements.
