BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE CREATES SCHOLARSHIP
FOR OUTGOING PRESIDENT

March 21, 2003, Bloomfield, NJ -- To serve as a tribute to Bloomfield College’s 15th president and to honor his achievements, the College’s Board of Trustees has established the John F. Noonan Endowed Scholarship Fund.

The John F. Noonan Endowed Scholarship Fund will exist in perpetuity at Bloomfield College and will nourish the capacities of deserving Bloomfield College students for generations to come.

Dr. Noonan, who has served Bloomfield College with distinction for the past 16 years, announced last April that he plans to complete his presidency at Bloomfield College when his term expires in June 2003.

Under Dr. Noonan’s leadership, Bloomfield College has attained national prominence for its diversity work. Last year, Bloomfield College ranked third in campus diversity among Northern Comprehensive Colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College has also set fund-raising records, added several new academic programs, and opened a new $7 million library thanks to Dr. Noonan’s guidance.

Those who wish to contribute to the scholarship fund may contact Veronica Clinton in the Office of College Relations at 973-748-9000 ext. 299 or via e-mail at veronica_Clinton@bloomfield.edu. Contributions may be sent to the Office of College Relations, Bloomfield College, 229 Liberty Street, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
