Professor Jeff Mellow
Dr.
Mellow is an Associate Professor in the Sociology department.
He earned his B.A. at American University (international
affairs) and his Ph.D. in criminal justice at the University
at Albany. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Mellow served
as the news producer for the Law Enforcement Television
Network. His enjoys working with students in order
for them to obtain the skills that will allow them
to be successful in their future criminal justice career
Dr. Mellow’s principal area of research involves
understanding the programming needs of prisoners reentering
society. He is co-director of Prisoners and their Families
Project, a project focused on increasing the availability
of services and programs for people leaving prison
and their families in the Newark, NJ area.
