Bloomfield College recognizes the importance of a safe and secure campus environment and strives to maintain a campus security system that provides protection for students, faculty and administrative employees.

The Director of Public Safety is primarily responsible for providing a program of campus security. This responsibility is carried out with the assistance and cooperation of the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Director of Residence Life. The campus security staff is provided through a contract with Professional Security Bureau. Supervisory personnel is provided by Bloomfield College. This combination provides around-the-clock unarmed security coverage. The coverage provides 24 hour foot patrols, enforcement of parking regulations and building access control where applicable. In addition, there is a roving foot patrol officer 24 hours a day.

The Director of Public Safety annually compiles crime statistics. He/she produces this Annual Security Report, which includes crime statistics, security policies and regulations. This report is made available to current students and employees through direct mailings and via campus website. Prospective students and employees are informed that the report is available, given a summary of its contents, and the opportunity to request a copy.
