Hours of Operation

A registered nurse is on duty during the academic year at the following times.

Monday - 8:30 - 7pm
Tuesday - Friday 8:30 am to 4: 30 pm

Appointments are suggested.

Walk-in hours are available during the following times:

Monday: 12 noon - 2 pm and 4 - 6 pm
Wednesday: 12 noon -2 pm
Thursday: 10 am - 12 noon

A Medical Doctor is available for consultation on Wednesdays at 2:30 during the Fall and Spring semesters.

Patient Rights and Responsibilities

As a patient, you have certain choices, rights and responsibilities. The Health Services Office asks that you participate in your own health care by being an active and informed consumer.

Patients have the rights to:

  • Respect, consideration and dignity.
  • Privacy.
  • Confidentiality of records.
  • Clear explanations.
  • Know availability of services
  • Know all fees for services.
  • Know names and positions of people serving you.
  • Refuse treatment or any procedure.
  • Seek a second opinion.

Patients have the responsibility to:

  • Be honest about your medical history.
  • Report any changes in your health.
  • Cooperate in the treatment plan recommended by the Health Services Office doctor or nurse.
  • Accept personal responsibility if they refuse treatment.
  • Abide by the polices of the Bloomfield College
  • Accept financial responsibility for services received.
  • Respect the right of other patients and Health Services staff

Who is eligible to use the Health Services Office?

Commuter and residential students are eligible for all services. Faculty and staff are treated for sudden illness or injury while on campus

Confidentiality

All services provided by the Health Services Office are confidential.

Medical records are strictly confidential and are not part of the academic record.

There are limited confidentiality exceptions required by law, such as certain communicable diseases, or situation which threaten your own safety or safety of others, and age of consent.

No information will be released without the written permission of the student

Cost

There are no charges for professional services provided to the Student Body by the Registered Nurse or Medical Doctor.

MMR and Hepatitis B vaccines are given for a medication fee of $50 per dose.
