The Wellness Center is pleased to continue offering free yoga classes to students, faculty , and staff. The Bloomfield College community has responded enthusiastically to the opportunity to participate in this ancient tradition. Students, faculty, and staff participate side-by-side as they utilize the gentile stretching exercises (asanas) of Hatha Yoga to stretch and strengthen their muscles and relieve the stress associated with the hectic schedule of college life.

Why Yoga? - 2 Perspectives
-
Many people come to yoga for quite simple reasons. They feel it might help them to cope with stress and be more relaxed, or perhaps to ease their back pain. But there is almost always a desire for a more fulfilled life.

Most people go into yoga purely because they want to feel better in a vague, indefinable way. Beginners often question how long it takes to ‘be able to do it’. But remember – you are doing it already.
This is about simple body movement, according to yoga traditions. Even 10 minutes of stretching and breathing each day will increase life and energy flow to each part of the body, preventing the rigidity, which leads to malfunction. All you have to be able to do is move – in whatever capacity you, personally can manage
